Boston, MA

This was our second trip to Boston (might become an annual trip!). With tickets so cheap on Spirit Airlines... $50 round trip each! why not?! But of course it was a RED EYE flight again (we landed at 5:30am)... last year you BARELY slept on the flight... but this year you did great! and slept through most of the flight and and through landing, and commuting to our hotel and even almost through breakfast! It was too early to check into our hotel.. so we dropped our luggage off and went for breakfast. (you started a pretty big bloody nose upon landing in Boston)
Last year, we did the Bean Town Trolley.
So this year, after breakfast we tried out the Boston Duck Tour!! Quack Quack!
You even got to drive the boat while we were in the Charles River!!
we saw most of all the same major city landmarks: the State House, Robert Guold Shaw Memorial, Boston Common/Public Gardens, King's Chapel & Burial Ground, Bunker Hill, etc...
after the Duck Tour (10:30 am), we were finally able to check into our hotel. This year, priceline got us the Hilton Boston Back Bay. It's only listed as 3.5 stars... but it was great and had an indoor pool! we got a room on the 21'st floor, as reviewers recommended for a good view of the city.
(i have such a love hate relationship w/ your stroller cover! I l-o-v-e the fact that is keeps you warm and protected from the random Boston chilly weather and rain (and smokers - yuck!) but I hate that you can barely be seen behind that plastic covering on the front! makes for horrible pics of you! LOL!
you LOVE it though!)

after a little rest in the hotel, we headed out for BONCHON chicken!!!
we LOOOOOOVED this place from last year, so we were very excited to finally get to eat there again!
although you did fall asleep on the way there...you soon awoke upon the smell of the yummy goodness that is BonChon chicken and lychee soju!
** for the record, you did NOT drink any soju! but I was perplexed as to why they gave us 3 shot glasses. but instead of soju, you took shots of daddy's watered down iced tea =P

being that BonChon is relatively close to the Harvard area, we thought we'd check it out!
(ever since the Jeremy Lin phenomena last year, daddy has had BIG dreams of you going to Harvard one day! I won't put THAT much pressure on you, but I definitely would not mind!)
Mommy will definitely have to retake that photo of you sitting with "Mr. Harvard" himself if you ever end up attending this prestigious university! The weather suddenly turned drizzly and chilly! So we did not really get to walk around the campus very much. Dadd was disappointed at how "plain" it all looked. But I had to explain to him that Harvard is an Ivy League prestigious private institution with many many years of history & honor.... not a new aged high tech fancy school.... so it is simplicity at it's best! LOL!

so we headed back to the hotel and let you chill a little bit watching TV
and then we hit the indoor pool and hot tub!!!

after we washed up from swimming we headed to dinner at Penang - a Malaysian restaurant recommended to us by Uncle Chi. We were disappointed though. Food was just ok, too bad.

**** Boston - Day 2 ****

we slept in on Friday and went to eat an early lunch at Neptune Oyster Bar. Mommy was a little nervous going there because it's a VERY popular place! We tried to go here last year and the wait was over 1.5 hrs! AND it would be extra difficult w/ you and your stroller... the place is TINY! but we totally lucked out by getting there by 11:00 and our wait was only 20 mins! Woo Hoo!!
we were told EVERYTHING was good here... it was hard to decide on what to get for lunch!
But when in Boston.... eat what the Bostonians eat!
Clam Chowder, oysters, 1 hot and 1 cold Lobster Roll, and a caesar salad (gotta have some veggies)
Everything was delicious! (I def prefer the hot lobster roll)
here's a close up of the oysters and the list of what we ordered.
They are in order top to bottom, starting clockwise from the lemons.
after that incredible lunch, it was naptime for you. So we took a leisurely stroll through the
new Holocaust Memorial that was built last year. it was so sad reading people's memories of their experiences.
you woke up just as we made our way to the beautiful Boston Common park.
This is the most beautiful park I've ever been to! It's so well maintained, with the most beautiful flowers and the most beautiful trees!
You ran wild and free chasing birds, rabbits and ducks.
then we went and took a ride on the Swan Paddle Boats
we had a great time at the park. as we walked back to our hotel, we passed the memorial that was set up following the awful Boston Marathon bombing that happened in April.
To be honest, Mommy had my reservations about taking this trip to Boston. I was nervous and scared and worried for our safety. It happened only about 2 weeks before our trip was scheduled! There was a huge lock down of the city for a couple of days because they had not apprehended the culprits. But after a few days... they were caught... and everything calmed down, and Boston continued on w/ it's "new normal".. so we decided to go ahead w/ our trip.... and I am soooo glad we did! I really do love this city.

we went back to the hotel for a rest. and for dinner, we had BonChon again!
The line was out the door!!! The beef and pork belly tapas were a huge disappointment,
but everything else was yummalicious as usual.

**** Boston - Day 3 ****

we slept in again on our last day in Boston. Just took our time getting up and packing up our bags. Our flight wasn't until 5pm? so we had plenty of time. We checked our luggage in at the Hotel's front desk and went out for lunch. Daddy did a search on-line for Boston's best Sea Food Chinese restaurant and we ended up at Q restaurant. But turns out, this place is actually more popular for it hot pots! LOL.
the food was not bad... but the restaurant was SO HOT! so the hot pots made it even warmer in there! This meal would def be good on a COOOLD winter day.

after lunch, you napped in the stroller while we walked to the Boston Common park again. When you woke up you fed the ducks, played in the Boston Common Frog Pond playground and took a ride on the carousel.
we soon headed back to our hotel to get our luggage and
head to the airport. where we ate some more, LOL!
can't go wrong w/ free BOS airport wifi and one last (cold) lobster roll from Legal Seafood!

we WILL be back Boston!!!
-xoxo
